On the 8th of June, 2022 Paras held an AMA event on our Twitter Space with Bearverse’s CEO and Founder, Eugene Kitkin, and our Business Development Team, Fidel Saputra, as the interviewer. He asked several questions about Bearverse’s Free-to-Play BSC-based multiplayer strategy game with a play-to-earn model, created for mobile devices along with their Bear NFTs, which will hopefully be released later this year.
If you miss the AMA, do not worry! We have summarised the recording and you can read it in your free time.

Eugene: Hello guys, it’s a pleasure to be here. Thank you for granting this AMA session. I would love to answer any questions from the community.
Fidel: Hello Eugene, how’s your day? How are you?
Eugene: The day’s just great. I spent 14 hours today planning the new features of our game, and how exactly we will implement the token. I have so much to tell you guys, so I’m very excited to be here!
Wow, I see a lot of people who have already joined this AMA session and it looks cool!
Fidel: Hello everyone! Thank you for coming here today on Bearverse’s AMA. I’m Fidel from Paras, and I’ll be the host for today’s event.
In today’s AMA we will have 2 sessions:
  • In the first session, Eugene from Bearverse will answer some of the questions we have.
  • In the second session, we asked the community to participate and ask their own questions prior to this AMA, and now Eugene will answer some of them.

Session One:

Fidel: Let’s start with the first session of the AMA. Please welcome Eugene, the CEO & Founder of Bearverse ! For those who don't know about Bearverse. Bearverse is a Free-to-Play multiplayer strategy with a play-to-earn model, created for mobile devices.
Eugene: That’s right, but it’s just a few of the meanings of what Bearverse actually is or what we are building here. In very brief words, the Bearverse is a franchise; like an ecosystem of games. The strategy and RPG games are what you have just described, in which players can go to our website, bearverse.com/demo , download it on Android phones and play already. This is a team battle, where the player needs to build up his winning team with the unique bears and go beat his folks. However, more importantly, we’re building a story. We want to tell the players how 11 clans of bears need to unite under the pressure of nature to fight against the 12 clan leader, Kai, who used the black magic and turned the whole world into a frozen wasteland. They believe that they will find an artefact called ”Warm Dusk” which will help them to warm up the frozen world to bring back their relatives and friends. That’s what we’re building here.
By the way, our next game, which will be released pretty soon, is a text game on a discord server and your listeners can already join and experience our text-based game where they create their bear, their character, and already experience the game. They can also experience some mini games like fishing and mining.
We also will try to implement the token economy in this text version of the bigger game to gather more feedback from the community and listen to the players’ needs and expectations.

Fidel: I already tried the demo. Since the graphics of the game are superb, can you brief us a little about the mechanics of the game? Is it only available on mobile? Or are you gonna launch it on the web also?
Eugene: So you have played the demo version of the team battle game which core mechanic is to combine the unique attributes of bears and find synergies which will help you to beat the most difficult bosses. The core game playing is to drag your bear into the field and see how the traits and clans’ passive abilities and class abilities will benefit each other. You can tell the reference is like team fight tactics from League of Legends or maybe even like Raid: Shadow Legends, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, Marvel Strike Force and others. So, it’s a classic team battle game.

Fidel: As you know for now, the distance or the gap between web2 gamers and web3 gamers is huge. How can Bearverse bridge this to attract more traditional gamers to try new blockchain based games?
Eugene: Yes, the gap is huge indeed, and one of the main problems a game developer needs to solve is to reduce the gap for sure. Why is it so? Because it’s very difficult for web2 players to find out about the meta mask or the NEAR wallet or about any other wallet in terms of launching or creating the address, and to put some crypto tokens on it, etc. It requires a lot of steps for it. As a game developer, we need to simplify the process, so it will be easier for our players to just experience the game. It means that as a game developer, we are trying to create a free to play experience for the players. After they meet our characters and dive into the subject, we want to offer him to look into web3 experiences, like “you already have a really cool team, etc., but if you want to go further in our gaming experience or if you want to see our marketplace or if you want to cash out some money out of our game, please consider taking a look at the web 3 option this game offers you”.
So, we’ve adopted a very gentle approach for the player at first by offering him a classic game play. One week later maybe, we will start to introduce him to the web 3 ideas.

Fidel: We all know how the bear market affected crypto industries, so what’s the plan for you guys? Are you gonna wait until the bear market is finished?
Eugene: In terms of idea, for sure we are going to wait for the better market conditions to fulfil the expectations of our investors. In terms of game development, we never stop the development process, so we just focus on building community as we started to conduct AMA sessions. We already had AMA with Tank Metaverse and with you guys.
We’re focusing on the gameplay itself, so for sure, we needed to reduce our team a little bit. We cut the 3D developments by now, but we are focusing on the gameplay itself in the economy and the core gameplay mechanics. We’re testing the balance and how it will look in the final stage, etc. Later, when we will be 100% sure that what we're building is in demand amongst our target audience or players, we will start to create great 3D models again.
By the way, the world has seen almost 12 models of our bears, and we will introduce some of them during the NFT sale that we’re going to conduct later.

Fidel: On the scale of 1-10, how ready is the game right now?
Eugene: It’s 6 or 7, something like that yeah.

Fidel: In terms of the tokenomics, can you brief us about Bearverse’s tokenomics? So that the audience knows the allocation of the token.
Eugene: I will share with you the tokenomics, but it could be changed during the negotiation process. I bet what you’re asking is how we build our economic system, right?
It’s a classic sink and faucet structure. On one side, you have a faucet that you should control. It means our players will get tokens from killing monsters, completing quests, and completing special events activities. The amount of tokens they will get will be dynamic, which means that we will see that in the sink stage. On the sink stage, there are not enough tokens spent this week. This means we have to adapt the faucet. We need to reduce the token that everyone gets from the monsters, etc. It’s not about the free market, as we will control it for sure, but we are doing it for the sake of our players and wealth in the game economy. We will also offer, on the sink side, to spend our tokens that players get on the faucet side. They could be spent on in-game boosters, in-game mutagens for breeding side, on the battle pass, etc. So, there will be a lot of ways to boost your characters, but it will not be pay-to-win. So, it’s a question of balance, and great balance will bring to life a great game.
Fidel: So it’s not a pay-to-win kind of game?
Eugene: No, for sure no.
Fidel: That's interesting. Nowadays, many cryptogames are pay-to-win kind of games.
Eugene: It's not a problem for cryptogames only, it’s a problem for the web 2 games as well. As web 3 developers, it frightens us how the mass market will think about us. They’ll think that we’re doing the pay to win games, etc., but we want to just do the real gaming experience. We want to focus on the great in game economy and we just want to offer our players the feel-good in our game.

Fidel: Are the NFTs gonna be implemented into the game? Can you explain more about future Bearverse plans?
Eugene: As we have already talked and explained to you, the NFTs we’re selling and will sell in the next NFT sale and we sold before in December, which are the embryos and bears NFTs, players will be able to get out from these NFTs the entities' characters. Every bear has their own attributes like strength, intelligence, etc. Along with that, you have unique passive ability and active ability. Also, the bear belongs to a clan or a class, and all these will randomly be generated at the minting phase.
When players buy an NFT character, he will be able to use this character to play in game and to complete harder levels. The actual game play is about combining the team and how it depends on the amount of the NFT bears in the team and if it will be profitable or not. As I said, this is a free to play game and everyone can go in the game and play using just regular bears. When they get the NFT ones, they will start to gain profits out of them. This is one part of the game.
The second part is that they can buy a bear in the marketplace and breed it with the bears they already have. They can get a new bear and sell it on the marketplace as well. This will be in demand because on one level, a player will need a really strong bear, and on another level, the same player will need an intelligent bear. He needs to combine his team wisely to get through the levels and the events, while this NFT flow, as a cash flow, will constantly generate the demand on the market.

Fidel: What’s the plan after you have sold the NFT bears? What’s your roadmap after conducting the NFT sale?
Eugene: Once the players buy the bears right now, we are working hard to deliver, maybe in the next 2 months, the system in our discord game. We are still working on it. I couldn’t commit to this timeline right now, but we’re trying to bring as much utility as possible as soon as possible. That’s why we’re doing this text discord game while I keep working on our main game which will be launched by the end of this year.

Session Two:

Fidel: Thank you for answering the questions. Let’s move onto the next session. We have received some questions from you guys through the Google Form that we shared with you. We have picked several best questions for Eugene. These lucky friends will also get the WL spots for Bearverse!
But for now, let’s get to the questions from the community:
The first question is from Noka. Regarding your Bear NFT in the game, are you thinking about adding a pet to the bears or some attributes/extra power?
Eugene: Every NFT bear will have their unique attributes, active abilities and passive abilities. We have a pool of 30 abilities right now and maybe we will enlarge this pool to the launch date. As for now, there’s only 30 of the passive abilities and the same amount for active abilities. There are visual effects, audio and animations for every of these abilities in 3D. So, this will be the special abilities of every NFT bears.
Our plan was to create 198 unique bears. It means 11 clans, 6 classes and 3 rare types: rare, epic and legendary.
The additional pet system is a really interesting idea and we thought of a lot of possibilities to improve the game even more, but we cannot implement all the cool ideas into the game. We need to test all of these, and we will think on how to implement the best system as well, but to date, it’s an out of scope task.
Fidel: The second question is from shefcoin.near. Upon looking at Bearverse’s Game Teaser, it seems like your game has high quality graphics. Do we need a high-end device to enjoy it?
Eugene: Our team was working really hard to reduce the requirements as much as possible. I have the most budget phone that costs $100, and everyone can download the game and play on the cheapest phone. Since we use the high-end technologies, we can improve the graphics quality by reducing the requirements of the hardware.
Since we’re focusing on the mass market, we need to take into account the low grade phones and cheaper phones.
Fidel: Shefcoin.near also asks regarding your White Paper that says, “All crafting will be centred around the forge building in the city of Veg or forges which every Landowner can build in Lands”. How many buildings and blacksmiths can be built and how long will they take to build?
What will affect the speed of crafting and the ability to craft epic or legends? Lastly, is it possible to craft several items at once?
Eugene: Landsale is not what we’re focusing on right now because we’re in a different market condition compared to earlier this year when we wrote the white paper. We thought that the landsale is a really cool point to market the game and to bring the community power. However, today we think that we will change it to the governance token or some other form of DAO. This is the question that we still need to discuss with the team on how exactly we will follow and keep the development process.
Fidel: This next question is from dustyllanos27.near. Will it be possible for you to create rare characters and items to be sold in the form of NFTS on popular sites, not only on NEAR blockchain, but also on Ethereum or Solana and so on?
Eugene: Yes, sure. We’re going to create NFTs for every item. However, it will not be ready this year because it’s a lot of work to be done, but maybe in the middle of next year. As a multichain game, sure we’ll create bridges for NFTs from NEAR to Polygon.
Fidel: For the next one, the audience wishes all the Bearverse team good luck!
Eugene: Thank you! We are happy to welcome you and your community on our discord server: discord.gg/bearversegame
Fidel: We have another question for you from aken.near. How many supplies in total for the bears?
Eugene: Since we’re going to conduct an idea during the seed, the private and the public round altogether, we’re going to raise around 7.7 millions and we’re still looking for the fund to lead the seed round.
Fidel: This next question is from Shamboy. Will the NFTs and the governance token have different blockchains?
Eugene: The NFTs will be multichained, so we will use systems to validate if the player has a token like NEAR Protocol or any other protocol. Therefore, there’ll be a really fluid integration for this. It doesn’t matter where your token will be as you can play it the same.
Fidel: Shamboy also has another question. What makes Bearverse unique compared to other play-and-earn games?
Eugene: We’re focusing on NFT bears which will be accessible from any of our games. So, we create an economy for one game, and for every one of our games. It means that we tie this token to the player’s time.
For example, a player launched the game and he spent 5 minutes in the team battle game on his android phone. The same amount of time he will spend playing the augmented reality allocation based game, and the same amount of time he will spend playing the farmer simulation game. So, we balance the rewards to the players’ time. Therefore, it doesn’t matter in which game he will spend his time, he should earn the same amount of tokens. This time based and game balance is one of the unique points.
The second point is 198 units of 3D Bears, which will create the law and will tell the story about the world beyond them. So, these are two unique selling points for our game.
Fidel: Thank you for answering the questions Eugene!
