Agni: Tagalog Pantheon

In the first month of Agni, we were able to release all Tagalog Gods. In completion here's a list of all Agni Tagalog Gods we've made so far and their stories.

Note: details may differ in some stories since there are multiple records throughout the history of the Philippines

Family Tree

The Creation

At the beginning of time, 3 beings lived in the vast universe, and they were the first batch of deities who arrived on Earth. That was Bathala, Ulilang Kaluluwa, and Galang Kaluluwa.

Galang Kaluluwa

They did not know the existence of each being until they arrived on Earth. At first, Bathala dreamed of creating humans because of his loneliness although he has a dilemma of creating one because of the emptiness of the world.

But later on, Ulilang Kaluluwa visited the Earth, which is one of his favorite places. Eventually, he met Bathala, but he did not like him because he is sitting in a world he likes. Thus, Ulilang Kaluluwa challenged Bathala to a duel, and whoever wins will own the Earth and the Universe. After 3 days and 3 nights of non-stop battle, Bathala defeated Ulilang Kaluluwa and burned his corpse to the ground.

A few years later, Galang Kaluluwa flew to the Earth and met Bathala. He was greeted upon arrival, invited to stay, and asked to reside in Bathala's Kingdom. At that moment, they've been good friends for years until Galang Kaluluwa caught a terrible sickness. Before he pass away, he told Galang Kaluluwa to burn his corpse beside Ulilang Kaluluwa's grave.

Time passed, and the first "Tree of Life" sprouted out of the graves of both deities and Bathala started to design the Earth and the mortals.

Primordials
When the Earth was young, 3 beings existed. They were Bathala, Aman Sinaya and Amihan.

Aman Sinaya

Amihan

Bathala was the ruler of the Sky called "Langit" and Aman Sinaya ruled the Seas, "Linaw". The 2 rulers had a long-going conflict. Every day, they would try to outdo each other; Bathala used his lightning bolts and thunder, and Aman Sinaya used her waves and typhoons.

But one day, Aman Sinaya sent him a storm that would disrupt the sky and create large tsunamis. In response, Bathala threw huge boulders at sea which later on created an Archipelago called "Philippines".

With the help of Amihan, the 2 Rulers came to terms and became friends.

Adversaries
In the goodness of Bathala's kingdom "Langit", there was also an opposite spiritual plane of punishment, grief, and affliction called "Casanaan" or "Kasamaan". The ruler of this demonic Kingdom is Sitan.

Sitan

In the creation of mortals, the Earth became a spiritual battle for both mortals and Gods, Bathala and Sitan. A war on how people will live and where their souls go in the afterlife.

Other Deities
The other gods and goddesses were tasked with specific departments in Life and on Earth. Each deity possesses the power to aid or punish mortal beings.
